This Christmas, approximately 400 decorative details have been installed, which will illuminate the main streets of Donostia. The lights are also present in other neighborhoods such as Amara and Riberas de Loiola, Altza, Bidebieta and Herrera, Antiguo, Intxaurrondo, Gros, Egia, Loiola , Martutene, Igeldo, Aiete, Añorga and the Old Town. In fact, we can speak of more than one million lights that will make the city shine this Christmas.
The main Christmas decorations of San Sebastian
For these holidays the traditional Gran Bola de Navidad has returned, located in the Plaza de Cervantes. It is, without doubt, one of the main claims and one of the most anticipated ornaments. In addition, this year has grown two meters more in diameter, up to 12 meters.

Of course, the two impressive Christmas trees are a must see. One 14 meters high tree is located in the Plaza del Buen Pastor, and the second, 20 meters high, in the Miramar Palace.
As a novelty this year we must mention the light boxes that have been installed in the vicinity of the Maria Cristina Bridge and that simulate Christmas gifts on the Urumea River. The perfect place to take a beautiful picture!

Nor should you forget to visit the coquettish monumental crib that is located every Christmas in Gipuzkoa Square for over 50 years already. It is decorated with about 150 large figures (about 1 meter high each). Original arches of triumph sourroundined by lights that remind us of the stars make this crib even more native.

The Christmas Market
The Christmas Market, located on the Paseo del Urumea, is one of the highlights of the Christmas days. It has about 30 booths where you can buy all your Christmas items, crafts, food and many more. And, of course, there the Three Kings will be waiting for all the children who have behaved well!
