The Book Day in San Sebastian: Everything you can do!
The next 23rd April marks the International Book Day, a key date marked in the calendars of more than a hundred countries around the world. It is a celebration made to encourage reading and, of course, in San Sebastian it will be experienced in a special way. If you are thinking of staying in our hotel in San Sebastian at that time, take note of everything that will be organized on this event.
The Book Day, in Donostia, is synonymous with literary gatherings in several languages, signature of copies, various shows and much more. This is what awaits you if you are in town on April 23rd.
1.- Book Fair. The Book Day is not what it is in San Sebastian without the traditional fair that is installed every year in the central Plaza de Gipuzkoa. Again, it is a great opportunity to browse the latest titles published, acquire a classic of literature or even meet your favorite writer to dedicate your latest book. You have all day to approach the fair!

2.- Do not run out of bookmarks. Around 20,000 bookmarks will be distributed in this Book Fair edition, which is illustrated by the famous Donosta artist: Jokin Mitxelena. So, if you are going to stop by the fair, do not forget to take yours!
3.- Literary walk. One of the Sunday’s, April 23rd, most interesting activities will be the literary walk that will take place in the morning in Pasaia. The idea is to discover this Guipuzcoana locality through the novels "Pasaia Blues", by Harkaitz Cano; "Cacereño", by Raúl Guerra Garrido; And "Algo que nunca debió ser" by Dolores Redondo. Please register through this email: email@example.com, if you would like to sing-up as the available places are probably limited.

4.- Book crossing or exchange of books. It is a global initiative that promotes the exchange of books. How does it work? Just "free" the books in public places so that people can enjoy them. Of course, once read, they must be released again to reach other people. If you want more information about this great initiative, check out this link.

5.- Multilingual reading. In this Book Day edition, there will be a place for reading in several languages. So, we will proceed to read Gulliver's Travels in English and in Basque. Subsequently and in shifts of 10 minutes, the public will be able to read this book in the language of their choice. It is, without doubt, a very rewarding experience that connects book lovers of any language and origin!
