Month of the Museums of the Basque Coast: celebrate it in San Sebastian!
During the month of March, the Month of the Museums of the Basque Coast will be celebrated, an initiative that aims to promote the (immense) cultural heritage of the Basque Country. There will be 31 days of activities, workshops, guided tours, free tickets and a long list for all audiences. If you are thinking about coming to San Sebastian this month and staying at our beach hotel in San Sebastian, you must know that you could not choose a better date! And, more than 100 spaces throughout Euskadi have prepared a special agenda for these days, with all their affection. Not to be missed!
San Sebastian is a city to live and experience in its streets, in its pintxo bars, in its viewpoints and, of course, in its museums. If you love to soak up the culture of each destination you visit, then you can only get a pen and paper and take note of everything you can do in Donostia in the coming weeks.
Guided visit of the Aquarium
Throughout the month of March, you will have the opportunity to discover the bowels of the Aquarium of San Sebastian for free. It is, in fact, one of the best oceanographic in Europe, a space located in a privileged place, specifically on the pier of San Sebastian.
It is possible to see the skeleton of a right whale, marvel at the more than 200 marine species that inhabit it and feel an extra dose of adrenaline as you walk through its famous 360º tunnel.
The Month of the Museums of the Basque Coast, then, proposes a guided tour to know the inner workings of the Aquarium. It's free but, remember that you must book to not run out of seats!

Family plans in the Museo de San Telmo
The Museum of San Telmo is another great protagonist of this event that will last the whole month of March. Opened in 1902, it is the oldest museum in the Basque Country. Nowadays, it presents a totally renewed aspect and is focused on Basque society.
There is no doubt that Basque is the main heritage of the autonomous region, which is why the museum has planned fun activities designed for families, with secrets to discover and various games super-sustained.
The activity is designed for children between 6 and 12 years old, but the truth is that all members of the family will have a great time!

Workshop and visit at the Naval Museum
A third plan to do during this Month of the Museums of the Basque Coast will take place at the Naval Museum. Since its foundation, it has overseen the spread of relationship between the human being and the sea and, in fact, it is the best ambassador to promote the Basque maritime tradition.
During this month, it will be open to all families with children over 5 years-old to make an interesting handcraft together. Side by side, they will have to sand, assemble and decorate a wooden whale that, later, they will be able to take home to remember that day with such a productive family.
But that's not all: you can also attend a guided tour of the exhibition "Rafael Munoa. Capture of two whales, 1763. "
